| FLUENCY: WHAT IS IT AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? | ||
| The
role of the literacy specialist is a unique one. I have the privilege
to support both our wonderful students and our dedicated teachers. I
provide language arts curriculum support in the form of teaching modeled
lessons, planning, as well as acting as a resource for teachers on all
things literacy. I am also fortunate enough to work with students that
need more literacy support. Small, targeted lessons and working with
students with learning differences also add to my days. I am trained
in the Herman method and I am able to work with students who have dyslexia.
The T.E.A.M.S. tutoring program is another one of the many “hats”
that I wear. What an opportunity I have, to encourage a strong link
between our students, families, staff and community!
It has been a privilege for the past ten years to educate the students of Plano I.S.D. and I am excited to continue my career here at Aldridge!
