| The Music curriculum
at Aldridge is largely based on the teaching and philosophy of Zoltan
Kodaly. Kodaly, a
native Hungarian, (1882-1967) believed that music should be an integral
part of the education of
every child. It is the birthright of every child to sing folk songs. Sue Melton received her Bachelor's degree from University of Texas and her Master's degree from Southern Methodist University both in Music Education. A 1995-1996 Aldridge Teacher of the Year, Sue has dedicated 14 years of service to Aldridge Elementary. She studied the Kodaly philosophy and mentors student teachers. After living abroad for some time, Sue brings a multi-cultural influence to the students of Aldridge. |
