Class Summary
This will be a 4-session,
parenting class devoted to “becoming a Love and Logic parent.” For
over twenty years, parents have had great success with Love and Logic techniques
by authors Dr. Jim Fay, Foster W. Cline, M.D, and Dr. Charles Fay. Love and
Logic can help children become more responsible and families become happier.

January 18 and 25
(Wednesdays) 6:00-7:30pm
Love and Logic: "Painless Parenting for the Preschool Years" video
with Dr. Charles Fay, Ph.D., handouts and group discussion.
February
9 (Thursday) 6:00-7:30pm
Love and Logic: "Helping Kids Face Today's World" video with Dr. Foster
W. Cline, handouts and group discussion
March
23 (Thursday) 6:00-7:30
Love and Logic: "Who Says Parenting Can't Be Fun?" video with multiple
presenters, handouts and group discussion.
4 Basic Principles
of Love and Logic (Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood, Fay and Fay, 2000):
1. Build the self concept.
2. Share the control or decision-making.
3. Offer empathy, then consequences.
4. Share the thinking and problem-solving

Stacey Butler, 4th-year counselor
at Beaty Early Childhood School, has a M.S. degree in Counseling. She worked
as a special education teacher for three years and as a private counselor as
well.
