Beaty Parent Library Access Policies and Procedures
We strongly encourage parents to check out books to read with your preschoolers at home! We also offer literature-based videos, books and cassettes, and a parenting collection. We have a small, but growing, multilingual section.
Parent check-out times will begin Monday, September 17
Morning
Parents:
Monday-Friday
from 8:15 to 8:45
Afternoon
Parents:
Monday-Friday
from 12:30 to 1:00
The
rest of the day is reserved for student and staff use of the library.
After coming through carpool, please park and come to the office to sign in and take a visitor badge before coming to the library.
If you have not filled out a form to create a library account at Beaty, we will do it the first time you come.
Parents may check out a maximum of 5 total items for a period of 2 weeks. No more than 2 items can be AV (cassettes or videos). AV materials are checked out for 1 week only. While we do not charge overdue fines, we do charge for damaged or lost materials. Items are considered lost after 30 days.
Please return library materials that you have checked out directly to the library. Do not return materials that you check out in your child’s backpack. You are welcome to return materials if you finish before 2 weeks.
While we obviously
love little ones here at Beaty, this time is primarily set-aside for adults
to access the library. If you must bring a toddler, please keep them at your
side. Sometimes it helps to let them choose a board book from the Hippo first,
and then do your own browsing. Children may also choose books in the browsers
or on the tops of shelves. This keeps the book on the shelves in good order
for locating purposes. Parents may choose from any shelf in the library.
For their own safety, children may not play in the story time kiva.
