From Our PTA President ~

Welcome and welcome back, Bethany Elementary students and parents!
My name is Linda Sealy and I am very excited to be your new PTA President for the next two years. We have an eventful year planned for Bethany. Our PTA members have been very busy this summer preparing for the school year.

Some of our goals include the following:
-revitalizing the McGruff safety house program
-having a Health and Safety Carnival for the community
-revamping the Dad’s Club program in an effort to get more fathers involved as volunteers
-starting a series of parent education “brown bag lunches” and “parent information nights” where professionals from the community come to speak to us about important issues facing our children
-raising money for various school needs such as manipulatives for the classrooms, instruments and PE equipment
-providing funds to buy books for the literacy library
-bringing in educational assemblies for our children as well as providing field trips for the grade levels that have requested them
-having a little fun for the kids with a sock hop this spring

These are just a few of our goals. We are hoping that with your financial support, we will be able to achieve them. We have several fundraisers planned which include Sally Foster gift wrapping paper, passbooks, the Write a check campaign, school nights at McDonalds, Gatti town and Chuck E. Cheese, as well as cookie dough sales.

I encourage each of you to look for the volunteer applications that we have sent out. Bethany is such a wonderful school because of the caring parent volunteers, teachers and staff. I am honored to work with such giving people. If you can donate any of your time to volunteer from home, in the classroom, library, or help the specials teachers, please do. If you are interested in finding out how you can become a volunteer at Bethany, please contact Susan Wise, our volunteer coordinator at jbsbduck@verizon.net.

I thank you in advance for your support. If you have questions or comments, I would love to hear from you. Do not hesitate to contact me at lindasealypta@yahoo.com. Have a wonderful year!

Linda Sealy
