ELMS Club - Everyday Language Made Simple

WHO is invited?    All Beverly students and their families who speak English as a second language.

WHEN does the club meet?    The club meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month after school from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m.

WHERE are the meetings?      We meet in the cafeteria.

WHAT is the purpose of the club?

The purpose of the club is:

  • for students, younger brothers and sisters, and parents to practice speaking English through the use of games and  activities and talking with one another during club time
  • to meet and interact with new families
  • to encourage parents to come to school and get involved at Beverly
  • for parents to be more comfortable in asking questions about their child’s education
  • to help answer questions about America, especially for those parents new to our country

Every family in the school is invited to attend if another language is spoken in their home. Children do not have to be in ESL to attend ELMS Club.  Through donations from the 2002, 2003 and 2004  Plano ISD Education Foundation and the Beverly PTA, we were able to purchase many games and activities.  These games are available for families to check out and take home to use with the whole family.
Please come!   Join in the fun!
