Karen Luellen I graduated with honors from Emporia State University in 1995 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and dual specializations in Early Childhood and Multiculturalism in the Classroom. For several years, I worked a press release writer for my university, then as a copywriter for a local radio station. I also had the opportunity to stay at home with my two beautiful children, Kathryn and John. Since 2003, I have been a teacher at Beverly Elementary. I’m now working toward my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of North Texas with an emphasis in gifted education. Between us, my husband Dan and I have four awesome children ranging in ages from seven to twelve. I love spending time with my family watching movies, playing board games and hanging out in our backyard garden. Spring 2009, I published my first young adult novel and have already begun work on its sequel. Teaching my students to feel passionate and empowered as writers is very important to me. I love being a kindergarten teacher and look forward to many wonderful years at Beverly Elementary helping my students grow as successful, lifelong learners. Lisa Moody I grew up in Douglasville, Georgia and attended Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. My major was Human Development and Family Sciences with a minor in Child Development. I moved to Texas in 2002 and completed the Region 10 Elementary Education Certification Program. I have been teaching Kindergarten since 2004 and I absolutely love it! I am blessed to have a three year old daughter, Annie. We enjoy walking our cock-a-poo, Louie, reading books together, and visiting my family in Fort Worth! I am excited to be a part of the Beverly family and I am looking forward to a wonderful year! Sadie Boley I graduated from Baylor University at the top of my class with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. During my time at Baylor, I gained experience teaching many different grade levels. As part of my studies, I also traveled to London, England where I had the opportunity to learn about different cultures while teaching Pre-K and First grade. I married my high school sweetheart, Chris, last June. Chris and I love running, cooking, and spending time with family. We also have a puppy named Rocket and a turtle named Buddy. This will be my second year teaching Kindergarten at Beverly, and I am looking forward to helping my students learn and grow every day! Go Bobcats! Nora Davis I was born and raised in Sugar Land, TX, a suburb of Houston. When I was in Kindergarten, I told my parents that I wanted to be a Kindergarten teacher “when I grew up,” and I never changed my mind. I attended college in San Marcos at Texas State University, which was originally founded as a teacher’s college. After graduating with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, I began my graduate studies at Texas State with the Teacher Fellows Program. This unique fellowship allowed me to earn my Master’s degree in Elementary Education - Methods and Materials while teaching in Leander ISD. I spent my second year as a Kindergarten teacher with Round Rock ISD. I moved to the Plano area in August 2008 to be near my then-boyfriend, now-husband, John. We were married July 25, 2009, so you may hear me referred to by my last year's name: Miss Cox. I am very excited to begin my fourth year as a Kindergarten teacher and 2nd year here at Beverly Elementary. I enjoy reading, shopping, swimming, attempting to cook for my new husband, and playing with my little Yorkie-Chihuahua mix, Lulu. Please visit my Kindergarten webpage at http://web.mac.com/noracox. Kerrie Whitson I was raised in Plano and graduated from Plano East Senior High. I
