Karen Luellen I graduated with honors from Emporia State University in Kansas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and dual specializations in Early Childhood and Multiculturalism in the Classroom. I worked as a press release and copywriter before staying home with my own two amazing children, Kathryn and John. Once the children were old enough, I returned to the classroom and have been happily teaching at Beverly Elementary since 2003. Kindergarten is my favorite age to teach because I love seeing life through their eyes. I am passionate about my work and feel personally motivated to keep the level of learning high. As for my home-life, my husband Dan and I have a blended family with our combined four children ranging in ages from nine to fourteen (3 boys, 1 girl). We love movies, board games and spending time together just hanging out with the kids. Second only to teaching is my passion for writing. I'm an author of two young-adult novels (ages 12+) and always have another plot and group of characters spinning through my imagination waiting to get on paper. I also love to read, sew, listen to music, draw, paint, and browse antique stores. I'm looking forward to many more wonderful years at Beverly Elementary helping my students grow as successful, lifelong learners. Nora Davis I was born and raised in Sugar Land, TX, a suburb of Houston. When I was in Kindergarten, I told my parents that I wanted to be a Kindergarten teacher “when I grew up,” and I never changed my mind. I attended college in San Marcos at Texas State University, which was originally founded as a teacher’s college. After graduating with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, I began my graduate studies at Texas State with the Teacher Fellows Program. This unique fellowship allowed me to earn my Master’s degree in Elementary Education - Methods and Materials while teaching in Leander ISD. I spent my second year as a Kindergarten teacher with Round Rock ISD. I moved to the Plano area in August 2008 to be near my then-boyfriend, now-husband, John. We were married July 25, 2009, so you may occasionally hear me referred to by my former name: Miss Cox. I am very excited to begin my 6th year as a Kindergarten teacher and 4th year here at Beverly Elementary. I enjoy reading, shopping, swimming, attempting to cook for my husband, and playing with my little Yorkie-Chihuahua mix, Lulu. Please visit my Kindergarten webpage at http://web.mac.com/noracox. Lisa Besch I grew up in Douglasville, Georgia and attended Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. My major was Human Development and Family Sciences with a minor in Child Development. I moved to Texas in 2002 and completed the Region 10 Elementary Education Certification Program. I have been teaching Kindergarten since 2004 and I absolutely love it! I am blessed to have a six year old daughter, Annie. I just got married this summer and love spending time with my new husband. We enjoy walking our cock-a-poo, Louie, playing board games as a family, going to the lake, and visiting my family in Fort Worth! I am excited to be a part of the Beverly family and I am looking forward to a wonderful year! Sadie Boley I graduated from Baylor University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. During my time at Baylor, I gained experience teaching many different grade levels. As part of my studies, I also traveled to London, England where I had the opportunity to learn about different cultures while teaching Pre-K and First grade. I married my high school sweetheart, Chris, in 2007. Chris and I love running, swimming, cooking, and spending time with family. We have a dog named Rocket, and I am always telling the kids about the silly things he does! This is my fifth year teaching Kindergarten at Beverly, and I am looking forward to helping my students learn and grow every day! Go Bobcats!
