Music Education Program |

It is the belief of the music department that music is a language in and of itself and that each child should be given the opportunity to grow and succeed in this basic and natural means of human expression. Each child is provided with one music session per week. Each lesson is crafted to develop music skills through singing, playing musical games, folk dancing, reading, writing, and creating. The goal is to produce a musically literate child who can go on to enjoy music through out his/her lifetime. Music crosses barriers of academic and aesthetic skills which makes it a very unique medium of stimulation. Lessons are prepared using the Kodály method of music education, a highly sequential and developmental method which uses the voice as the main instrument. Music Club Music club is a forum for students and parents to perform their music for each other. We meet once a month in the music room. There is not an official member list, anyone with an interest in having more music time is welcome to attend. Those people who would like to perform are asked to turn in a performance sheet by the morning of the meeting. Music Club always runs from 2:45 to 3:45. Scheduled dates will be posted at the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year.
If you are in Kindergarten or PASAR I will need a note from home in order for you to attend. Some Cool Sites to Visit: Students can work online with these interactive websites. Dallas
