It
has been a terrific first semester for the 2007-2008 school year
here at Boggess Elementary. I would like to thank each and every
family for all their support. Boggess is fortunate to have such
fine fine families in our area. So many have united to form a fine
fine PTA led by the very best board.
At
this time I would like to extend a very big thank you to this fine
group for all their hard work and support. The Boggess PTA has gone
far and beyond in providing great entertainment, yet educational
programs to our students. On December 18 all students enjoyed the
program, “Count On Me” provided by PTA. On December
4, PTA went far and beyond with their generosity in providing a
great luncheon for the staff. The baked potatoes ready to stuff
and a spread of desserts that were fantastic. The food was truly
outstanding and the staff remarked time after time how the PTA was
there to serve and pamper them through their lunch. My staff joins
me in thanking Mrs. Terri Larson and PTA.
Another
fine fine group that supports us day after day is the Watch DOGS
(Dads OF Great Students). We thank Mr. Fly for his hard work and
organization to provide us with one or two dads every day here at
the school that support us in many ways.
As
the holiday season approaches, my staff and I would like to take
this time to wish you a safe and happy holiday season. We will see
you in 2008!
Here
for your children.

September 2007
A
big WELCOME to all new and returning Boggess Bengals. For our new
families, we are glad you are here and hope you experienced a smooth
transition into your new school. For the returning families, I would
like to take this opportunity to thank you for working so hard with
your child last school year. As you may know by now our state accountability
rating for the 2006-2007 school year was Exemplary! We know we could
not have done it without you.
Thank
you for coming to our Back to School Nights. I hope you found them
to be informative and productive.
As
we begin to focus on this new school year, I am very excited about
a new program for fathers called the "Watch Dog" Program.
It will be coordinated through our PTA and will consist of providing
many wonderful opportunities for our dads to volunteer at school.
They may choose to read to our students in small groups, sign up
to help with car drop-off duty in the mornings on their way to work,
assist in monitoring our lunch room, just to name a few things.
I am excited about this opportunity for our dads and would like
to extend a thank you to our “Top Dog”, Steve Fly and
to Pam Seeger, PTA Programs Director for finding this nationally
recognized program for Boggess.
Another
exciting program new at Boggess this year is an environmental program
called the Boggess Earth Team (BET). Thank you to Ms. Marci Dondershine
for heading this.
Excitement
also filled our 5th grade halls as they headed to camp recently.
This year our 5th graders attended the Collin County Adventure Camp
on September 26-29. Everyone had a wonderful time!
Please
remember to drive slowly as you enter and exit our parking lot and
remind your child to always walk their bike while on campus grounds
for everyone’s safety. For your convenience, children may
be dropped off as early as 7:00 a.m. with supervision provided in
the gymnasium. You may go off to work with less stress by dropping
your child off between 7:00 and 7:25 a.m. There is no traffic congestion!
I would like to remind everyone how important it is for our students
to be in class, ready to learn, at 7:45 a.m.!
Please
remember to sign up for a parent conference for Friday, October
26 with your child’s teacher. We are looking forward to serving
you and your family in the 2007-2008 school year.
On behalf of the staff and myself please let us know how we may
serve you and your children to make it the best school year ever.
