Tips for Parents Curriculum Daily Schedule Contact Teachers Sixth graders at Bowman are placed on of two academic teams: Gold Stars Rockin' Blue RaidersEach team is comprised
of students and the teachers for the basic academic classes: social
studies, math, science, and language arts. The students enjoy
interactive lessons, field trips, and special team activities planned
by their teachers.

1. Make sure your child has all the supplies needed for classes:
2 blue or black ink
pens
2 pencils
1 red pen
notebook paper
highlighters
map colors
2. These supplies should be replenished often during the year.
3. Look for your child's library card in his pencil bag.
4. Check your child's agenda every day. Ask to see completed or graded assignments and tests.
5. Check to see that your child's notebook is organized:
dividers in the correct class order,
no loose papers, no spirals or folders,
all papers in the proper section.
9. Encourage your child to attend tutorials when he/she
has missed a day of school
needs to make up a quiz or test
is having difficulty understanding subject matter or concepts.
10. Help your child manage study time wisely, especially when a project or long-term assignment has been given.
11. Encourage your child to study for tests.
12. Review materials with them by asking pertinent questions about subject matter.
13. Look for progress reports the fourth week of the six weeks and report cards the Friday after the six weeks ends. Report cards are mailed home at the end of each semester.
