Art at Bowman Middle School

       

Students at Bowman Middle School experience art as a positive and creative force in their lives.
Starting with Exploratory Art in the Sixth grade as an introduction to art at Bowman. Students learn basic elements of art while developing their skills, with an emphasis on experiencing the process of creating art with new and different medias.

Art I students in the Seventh Grade enjoy a full semester of art. Students develop skills in a variety of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art forms, including drawing, painting, perspective drawing and sculpture.
Eighth grade students who take Art II will build on lessons learned in Art I as they explore a variety of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art forms,
Both in Art I and II all lessons are focused around historical artists, art styles, and cultures.

In Advanced Art qualified eighth grade students are encouraged to develop their ability in the arts through an advanced art course. Students continue to build on previous art experiences to build a foundation that prepares them to enter the Advanced Placement Art Program in the higher grades.
