The
award winning Bowman choirs offer a meaningful education in
music and many performance opportunities. At Bowman, there
are a grand total of five 6th grade choirs made up of over
130 students. Our seventh and eighth graders continue from
6th grade into our more advanced choirs: Concert Choir, Treble
Choir or Tenor-Bass Choir. Our 7th and 8th grade choir population
boasts a healthy 115 young singers. These choirs have even
more opportunities to perform and compete. Our department
would be incomplete without a single one of its choirs. Auditions
for the upper level choirs take place at the end and beginning
of each school year.
This
year, Bowman’s own 6th grade students will compete in
a music festival at Sandy Lake Amusement Park and the 7th
and 8th grade students will have the opportunity to compete
at the Plano Independent School District Choral Music Festival.
In addition
to competing, our choir members are given opportunities to
go on trips and fun events. We started out the year with our
Annual Bob Woodruff Park Family Cookout, where we got the
chance to meet our new students and their families. Other
events include a trip to a musical, Adventure Landing, Six
Flags and Medieval Times.
