The clinic provides temporary care for students who are ill or injured. The student must first report to class and obtain a pass from his/her teacher in order to report to the clinic. There is a nurse on duty or on call for emergencies.

Before making a decision to send a student home or back to class, one or more of the following steps will be taken; the student's temperature is taken, the symptoms discussed, and/or the parent is contacted. An ill student will not be allowed to leave school unless parental permission has been given either to the nurse, attendance office, or a person listed on the emergency card prior to leaving campus.

Students must not come to school with a fever or contagious condition. A student is contagious until their temperature is below 100.4 for at least 24 hours after high fever. Children with vomiting and diarrhea need to stay home.
