PACE gifted education is designed to respond to students whose interests and skills are more advanced and potentially diverse than many of their classmates and offers opportunities for study beyond the general education curriculum. Gifted students typically absorb information at a faster rate and process it differently than students in the regular classroom and frequently comprehend information with greater depth, often showing surprising insight and understanding. These students may have interests that are more typical of older students or adults.

Middle School PACE emphasizes above level cognitive experiences, extends and enriches selected grade-level TEKS, extends and enriches aspects of the district's middle school curriculum, and explores aspects of human creativity in the arts and in a variety of intellectual fields.
