Volleyball
Volleyball:
Ninth grade try-outs begin Monday, August 4, 1:00-4:00 at Clark High School. If cuts are necessary for the 9th grade team they will be made after tryouts end approximately Friday, August 8. Tenth grade tryouts were held in May but a try-out will be held 8:00-11:00 Monday, August 11, to finish out the team. Students in volleyball will sign up for first period athletics. Once school begins practice times will be 7:30-9:30 for 9th and 7:00-9:00 for 10th. Practice times subject to change.
Football
Football:
Football practice will begin August 11 at 9:00 AM. All players must provide an approved physical form before participating. Students who participated in football the previous year must be enrolled in seventh period athletics. No tryouts are required for these students. Tenth grade students who were not in the football program the previous school year and did not participate in spring football practice must have approval from Coach Easterling to tryout. These students will not enroll in the athletic period until a decision is rendered from the tryout. Tryouts will be held during the two weeks before school starts and continue after school during the first two weeks of the school year. Students may be dropped from the program during the first weeks of each semester for violation of policies, rules, or regulations or based upon the student’s lack of desire to continue participation. Cuts will be made in these circumstances. Compliance with all dress, grooming, and conduct guidelines is required. The only equipment you need to provide is football shoes, preferably one pair for grass and one for artificial turf. There are two teams for ninth grade students and one team for tenth grade students.

Boys
Basketball: Students must be enrolled in seventh period athletics. If you play football you will not need to sign up for basketball. There will be tryouts for football players after the football season is over. The boys that are in basketball will have tryouts the first two weeks of school. There will be two teams for the ninth grade, an A and B Team. The sophomores will have only one team. After school practices start in mid-October and the season will continue until the middle of February.

Basketball:Students must be enrolled in first period athletics. Tryouts will take place the first two weeks of school. Volleyball players may try out after their season is over. Ninth grade will have two teams, A Team and B Team. The tenth grade will have one team.

Boys
Soccer: Soccer is offered only at Plano East. Boys must be enrolled in first period athletics. Tryouts are open and will be held the first two weeks of school at Plano East. Players trying out must have played organized soccer in the last two years. Players must have a physical examination and present results to the coach prior to participation in tryouts. You must provide your own transportation to Plano East, and a shuttle bus will return you to Clark. Be at Plano East at 9:00 on the first day of school.

Soccer:
Soccer is offered only at Plano East. Girls must be enrolled in seventh period athletics. Off-season soccer tryouts will be held the first week of school during soccer class. Team tryouts begin after Thanksgiving after school. A shuttle bus will take you from Clark to Plano East. You must arrange transportation to your home at 4:15 from Plano East.

Ninth grade track is offered at Clark High School. Track is held after school. Tenth grade track is at Plano East. You must provide your own transportation to and from Plano East.
Girls Track

Track:
Track is offered at Plano East the second semester. Track
is first period athletics. Tryouts are required. Track meets
in the spring are on either Fridays or Saturdays. Workouts
are at Plano East, Monday through Friday, 7:45 to 9:30. You
must provide transportation to Plano East and a shuttle bus
will return you to Clark. The only equipment needed is a good
pair of running shoes.
Boys Cross-Country
Cross-Country:
Cross Country workouts for boys begin in August at 7:45AM and again at 4:45PM meeting at Bob Woodruff Park for grades 9-12. Tryouts are required with a Time Trail at 2 miles the first day. After school workouts are required for 11th and 12th, highly encouraged for 10th, and optional for 9th grade athletes. Cross Country Meets are mostly on Saturday mornings during the Fall. You must provide transportation to Plano East in the mornings and in the afternoons with a shuttle bus available to take athletes back to the high schools after the morning sessions. Equipment needed is a good pair of running shoes, shorts and top along with a good chronograph. This class is required for those athletes that are planning to run Track after school and are not in another sport or sport off season program during the Spring.
Girls Cross-Country
Cross-Country:
Tryout are required for girls cross country. Workouts will be held throughout the summer, Monday – Friday, at 8:00AM at Bob Woodruff Park. When school begins workouts will begin at 7:00AM. Cross Country Meets are mostly on Saturday mornings during the Fall. You must provide transportation to Plano East in the mornings and a shuttle bus is available to take athletes back to the high schools after the morning session. Equipment needed is a good pair of running shoes, shorts and top along with a good chronograph.
Baseball
Baseball: There is a ninth grade team at Clark High School. Ninth grade baseball is held after school during the second semester. You do not enroll in athletics to play baseball in ninth grade. Tenth grade baseball will be offered at Plano East. First semester baseball is first period athletics and second semester baseball is seventh period athletics at Plano East. Tryouts are required for both teams. Equipment needed includes shoes, glove, and bat. Participation during spring break is required. Contact the coach concerning tryouts.
Softball
Softball:
Softball is held at Plano East Senior High for all levels. Enroll in seventh period athletics to play softball. Tryouts are required. Equipment needed includes shoes, glove, and bat. Contact the coach concerning tryouts.
Golf
Golf:
Dates and times for tryouts will be announced after school begins. Tee times must be spread out among all the schools. Report to Pecan Hollow golf course the first day of class. You must provide your own transportation from Clark to Pecan Hollow and from Pecan Hollow to your home. Golf is seventh period athletics.
Tennis
Tennis:
New students interested in tennis will be given a tryout at the beginning of school. Students should meet in Room 215 beginning Monday, August 25. Tryouts will begin Tuesday, September 2. Students must have a health physical form on file at school before they may tryout. Tryouts are held across the street from Clark High School at Highpoint Tennis Center after school from 4:20 – 5:15. Tryouts will continue until all players have been evaluated. Tryouts usually last about two weeks and a printout will be posted for students making the team at the attendance office window. Tennis class must be on your schedule for seventh period.
Swimming
Swimming:
A morning and afternoon tryout will be held three days. You will need to make arrangements to be at ONE session EACH of the THREE DAYS! Posters will show the times and location of the tryouts. The athlete should have some knowledge of the four basic swimming strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle). Students selected to the varsity team will need to be dropped off at the Rowlinson Natatorium (Williams High School) in the morning and a bus will return them to Clark. Students selected to the junior varsity team will be transported by bus from Clark to the Rowlinson. Parents will need to make arrangements for transportation home from Rowlinson. Varsity team has first period athletics and the Junior Varsity team has seventh period athletics. Each athlete will be required to buy a team shirt and a team suit for competitions. For practice attire, girls will be required to wear a one-piece swimsuit and the boys will need a regular swimsuit.
