Davis
Elementary Assistant Principal
Kristin
Bishop
My name is Kristin Bishop, and I am proud to be the assistant principal
of Davis Elementary School. This is my 14th year in public education.
Prior to becoming an administrator, I taught 4th and 5th grades and special
education. I was also a special education team leader. This is my sixth
year as an assistant principal in Plano.
I
earned my undergraduate degree in History from Texas Christian University.
I then went on to get my elementary teaching certificate from Tarleton
State University. In 2002, I received the "Outstanding Educator of
the Year" award from the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas. In 2004,
I earned my Master's degree in Educational Administration from the University
of North Texas in Denton.
I
was born in Chicago, IL. My family moved to Arlington, TX when I was 9
years old. My husband and I moved to this side of the metroplex in 1999.
We have a baby boy named Halleck, and we share our home with a very naughty
one-eyed tabby cat named Sammy! I am the proud aunt of 6 nephews and 3
nieces. One interesting thing about me is that school administration runs
in my family- my younger brother is also a school administrator!
I
am thrilled to work as an assistant principal in Plano. I think each day
is an opportunity to learn and grow, for both the students and the staff.
The atmosphere in Plano inspires everyone to love learning. Everywhere
you look, students are engaged in new learning and activities. And just
when you think the students have learned it all, they amaze us by achieving
something else for us to celebrate. I love to ask students about their
work and their projects. Each time I ask, the boys and girls astonish
me with their insight and connections. I'm so proud to be a part of this
exceptional school district.
