Last year she was a member of our fifth grade team and completed her Gifted Education certification. Paula has experience teaching students in all grades from kindergarten to eighth grade. This year she is at the helm of our Title I Program and will work with students in grades 3-5 in the areas of science and math. Paula enjoys reading, jogging, and spending time with her family. |
The Title I program is designed to provide supplemental support to students who have been identified as scoring at or below the 25th percentile on district diagnostics and are at risk of not being successful on state assessments. All students who fail the TAKS test and attend a Title I school qualify for services. Additional staff positions and teaching resources are funded with the Title I federal grant money. This allows identified students to receive the additional help needed to close their achievement gap. There are two levels of school eligibility: Schoolwide and Targeted Assistance. • A targeted assistance program serves only eligible children who are identified with the “greatest need” for special assistance. •
A schoolwide program permits a school to use funds from Title I, Part
A to upgrade the entire educational program of the school in order to
raise academic achievement for all students.
