to the web site for Haggard Middle School! We hope this information
will give you a taste of some of the wonderful things that are happening
at our school. The Haggard staff believes very strongly in the success
of every student. Our mission statement best describes this commitment.
As evidenced by our test scores, Haggard's culture fosters high expectations and maintains a rigorous curriculum to reach those standards. In grades 6th-8th, each student is placed on an academic team which plans, coordinates, and makes connections in the curriculum to make it more meaningful to children. Furthermore, these teams work together to meet the unique academic and social needs that individual students may have on each team. Our teachers understand and value the importance of providing a safety net or support system for all Haggard students. Our fine arts and music departments are among the best in the nation. Both band and orchestra have made it to the finals for State Honor Band and Honor Orchestra for several years. In February 2007, the Haggard Full Orchestra received State Honor Full Orchestra. Also, the Haggard Eagle athletes are a formidable group who learn the values of discipline, commitment, and teamwork through the athletic program. In addition to these fine organizations, there are a myriad of other clubs and organizations in which students can become involved. We encourage you to come and visit Haggard. You will find it is a place where learning is a priority, friendliness abounds, and students are the heart of all that we do.
