The Haggard Power Math program is a one semester class that gives students basic skills practice, test taking strategies, and confidence in mathematics. This course serves all three grade levels on our campus, and the curriculum is based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Power Math students take this class in addition to their regular math class and are provided with the support need to succeed in math courses present and future.
The Haggard reading program provides a one semester reading class to seventh graders.  Those students who need to build their reading skills are required to take a year long Power Reading course in seventh and or eighth grade.  Skills in the reading program are technology, vocabulary, independent reading, guided reading, writing, note taking, strategy development, text structure and skills development and enhancement.  Our goal is to cultivate life-long readers.  Readers who read for pleasure as well as for knowledge.
