HIGHTOWER
LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The
Hightower Library Media Center is the hub of the school. It provides
the resources for the students and teachers to be able to study the curriculum
and to research the varied topics included in Plano's Elementary Integrated
Curriculum. Every student and staff member is welcome at any time
in the library.
The goal of our program is to provide the opportunity and resources for
staff and students to read for pleasure and information. We have
a flexible access policy with scheduled circulation and skills lessons
times for each classroom. The library is equipped with the technology
to provide online library catalogs, internet access, and research stations.
Students are taught technology skills, library and information skills,
and can also enjoy storytime. The Big6
Research plan is used with classroom activities as a part of
the curriculum.
