Be a PRIMATE PROTECTOR

Pat is the beautiful spider monkey who has lived at the Holifield Science Learning Center and has met over 100,000 Plano students and teachers since 1996. We have recently found a better home for Pat at the Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary in Florida. Not only will Pat have a larger habitat with lots of room to play and explore outdoors, but she will also have a companion in Travis, a 20-year old male spider monkey (pictured below) currently living at the sanctuary. At first the two monkeys need to live separately but side by side which means that Travis's cage must be altered. The sanctuary needs $3500 to purchase materials such as cage panels, ropes, and hammocks and to install heating and cooling elements in Pat's new habitat. Donations are being collected at participating Plano ISD schools holding a "Primate Protector" or "Pennies for Pat" fundraiser.
