Animal Library

The Living Materials Center (LMC) provides a variety of live animals that teachers can borrow for use in their classroom for any specified length of time. These animals come with habitat set-up, food, and instructions for care. Some animals are subject to availability. Click here for a list of animals in the LMC Animal Library.

Contact Tammy Welch during school hours at (469) 752-1193 or Tammy.Welch@pisd.edu to request animals for your classroom.

Classroom Materials

The Holifield Science Learning Center has a collection of natural items, scientific tools, and discovery boxes available for teachers to checkout and use in their classrooms. A complete list of materials that may be borrowed can be found here.

Classroom Presentations

Teachers can schedule a live animal presentation by HSLC staff by contacting Tammy Welch at 469-752-1193 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Presentations are approximately 30 minutes in duration and can be tailored to fit the intended audience. Click here for a list of presentation topics offered.
