A Word from Mr. Arend
I would like to introduce myself as your new assistant principal. My name is Matt Arend. I am looking forward to an extraordinary year. As excited as I am to be at Martha Hunt Elementary, as your new assistant principal, I am equally excited to be at Hickey Elementary as well, as their new assistant principal. Being involved with two schools gives me a great opportunity to work with a large number of students, teachers, and parents.
Before I have a chance to meet everyone, I would like you to know a little about me. I was born in South Dakota and later spent my high school years in Iowa. Upon graduating high school, I attended Peru State College in Nebraska, where I played football and received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After college I moved to Plano, Texas to pursue my educational career. Prior to being an assistant principal, I taught both fifth grade and third grade. During my time at Centennial I worked in various roles, such as camp director, science fair coordinator, and third grade team leader.
Again, I welcome you to the 2007-2008 school year. I am looking forward to the opportunities that I will be able to share with the students, parents, and staff of Martha Hunt Elementary.
