I am married
to my childhood sweetheart, and we have two wonderful daughters,
Sarah and Caroline. Some of my time after school is spent
playing with our two dogs, baking (especially brownies and
cookies), and driving Sarah and Caroline to and from volleyball,
basketball, or choir practices. I love spending time with
my family and friends.
I have been involved in the Plano school system
for many years. My parents moved to a home in Richardson in
1971. I attended Aldridge, Wilson, Vines, and Plano Senior
High. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Stephen F. Austin
State University and my Master's degree from North Texas.
I have been a reading specialist and have taught PPCD (the
preschool program for children with disabilities) and Kindergarten.
I taught First Grade during my first two years at Jackson,
and I'm thrilled to be back teaching Kindergarten at Jackson!

I have lived in Plano almost all of my life and was actually
a student at Jackson Elementary School in 1989, then to Renner
M.S., Shepton H.S., and graduated from Plano Senior High in
1997. I double majored at the University of North Texas, receiving
a B.A. in Spanish and a B.A. in International Studies. This
year is my third year at Jackson Elementary School and my fourth
year as a full-time teacher. I taught one summer school session
of Bilingual Pre-K at Cisneros in Garland ISD and taught Spanish
I and II for McKinney North High School and Collin County’s
Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program. Boy, am I happy
to be in elementary now! I am married to the love of my life,
and we live in Plano with our two sons. My husband’s first
language is Spanish, and we are raising our children to be bilingual
and to be aware of the beautiful culture that goes with the
Spanish language. My passions are learning new languages (goal
is to learn Chinese this year!) , traveling, and scrapbooking.
I am SO excited to be at Jackson and to be a part of our fantastic
Kindergarten team. I love being around wild and crazy kids and
think that teaching is the most rewarding position anyone could
have.

I have enjoyed every year! I have taught Kindergarten and
Second Grade, and I am happy to be back in Kindergarten. I
grew up in Richardson and graduated from Texas Tech University
with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. I live
in Dallas with my husband, daughter, and new baby boy. Come
by and see my pictures of my darling children!

My dream of becoming a kindergarten teacher started when I was
in kindergarten. Although the days of kindergarten being about
finger- painting, singing songs and reading picture books have
changed, my love for teaching young children has not. I started
my career working with children when I was attending Hillcrest
High School. I worked my way through college while teaching
preschool. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary
Studies at UNT. Before teaching at Jackson I taught at a private
preschool for over 20 years. I started my career at Jackson
in the fall of 2003. Kindergarten is my passion and I can't
imagine another profession that could bring the same joy and
laughter that these children do. Everyday is a new adventure
in kindergarten! Jackson is my neighborhood school and I love
being able to give back to my community.
My husband, Allen, and I have three children, Kyle, Jamie, and
Colby. Kyle and Jamie graduated from Jackson and Colby is thrilled
to currently attend Jackson! We also have 2 dogs, Owen and Jed,
and 2 cats Miley, (aka Hannah Montana), and Gracie. Outside
of school I enjoy family time, playing with my kids, going to
movies, photography and scrapbooking.

What a blessing it is to be a part of the Jackson family! As a former Jackson student, it is an honor to be able to give back to the very school and community who provided
me with such an incredible education! I love coming to work everyday. The growth that our kindergarten students make in a year is phenomenal!
I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Education. I began teaching in Bryan, Texas. Then, I returned to Plano when I got married. I have 2 wonderful children, Harper and Walker. They inspire me everyday to be the best teacher I can be. They are my world, and I hope to always be the teacher that I would want my own children to have.
I can't wait to build some new relationships with you and your children this year! |
