I have been teaching for 19 years, 16 years with PISD. This is my second year in second grade, and I love it. I graduated with a Home Economics/Emphasis Early Childhood degree from Texas A&M University in Commerce. My husband, Wilson, has been a dentist in Plano for 25 years. Both my daughters attended Plano schools--Amber lives in Dallas and Abbie just graduated from Abilene Christian University and recently married. We have a black daschund, named Sadie. In my spare time I love to read and go on mission trips with my husband. I am looking forward to another great year at Jackson!

I graduated from Texas Lutheran University with a Bachelor’s degree in Bilingual Education & International Studies. I was born in California, but grew up a military kid and moved every 2-3 years. This sparked my love for traveling and I’ve been truly blessed to have been abroad to Spain and Costa Rica. I taught briefly in Costa Rica and consider it my second home. I’m passionate about multicultural education and believe we all smile in the same language. I’m so excited to be a part of the Jackson family.

This is my 13th year as a second grade teacher. I taught six years in San Diego, CA, before coming to Texas. I am beginning my seventh year here at Jackson Elementary and have loved every day. I attended San Diego State University where I received my Bachelor’s Degree and then my Master’s Degree in Reading Education. I am on two soccer teams that play each Tuesday and Sunday. In my spare time I love to read and spend time with my family.

This will be my 5th year teaching as a bilingual teacher. I taught in Carrollton as a 2nd grade bilingual teacher and here at Jackson as a 3rd grade bilingual teacher and now 2nd grade. I attended DeVry University, and I obtained my Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering. I worked as an engineer for about 10 years and decided to make a change in life, and I don’t regret it--not one bit! It is a joy and honor to teach.

I grew up in Beaumont, Texas, the third of four children. My college background includes Lamar University and East Texas State University. My first teaching experience was in San Antonio, Texas. I went on to teach in Detroit, Michigan; McKinney, Texas; and now Plano. I also live in Plano and have a daughter, Chelsea, who graduated from Plano Senior High School and is now a college graduate. Her passion, like mine, is writing. |
