Grants to Educators

Members of the PISD Education Foundation Grant Patrol present ESOL teachers Angela Marshall (4th from left) and Liz Steinbaugh (3rd from right) with a grant to fund "ELMS To Go". ELMS is an afterschool program for students and their families who speak a language other than English. "ELMS To Go" will provide learning materials that will be available for weekly check-out from school.		Laura Fix and Kimberlee Speer proudly display the grant that will allow limited English speaking parents the opportunity to learn English. By learning English, parents support their children's learning at home and feel more a part of the school family. When parents feel invested in the school community, they are more invested in their children's education.
