My name is Janaye Weldon, and I am the Title I teacher here at Jackson. Each day I am dedicated to teaching reading and writing to students in several grade levels. I also serve as the director of our amazing mentoring program. I have been an educator for nine years, all of which were in Plano. I have served as a Title I reading paraprofessional, a special education teacher, and a Title I reading/math teacher. Before becoming a teacher, I was a stay-at-home mom for several years. Before that, I was a petroleum geologist in Dallas. My education includes a Bachelor's Degree from Abilene Christian University, and I am currently working towards a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of North Texas. My
husband, Brad, is a minister. We have two daughters, Aubrey and Haley.
Aubrey is a Junior at Abilene Christian University studying to be an elementary
teacher. She is engaged to be married in January. Haley is a freshman
at Abilene Christian University and is studying to be a pharmacist. Along
with my interest in working with children, I also enjoy gardening, reading,
and spending time with my family and friends. |
