Food
and Nutritional Service (FANS) personnel prepare nutritious, hot lunches daily.
Salads are also available but must be ordered in the morning when the lunch count
is taken. If you bring lunch from home, you can buy milk from the school. Lunch
menus are published in the local newspaper, posted at school, and sent home with
all students. Parents and relatives may have lunch with children on special occasions
at Jackson. It
is requested that lunches not be brought in from fast food restaurants
by parents. This practice is discouraged because the other children in that classroom
may have their feeling hurt and then may not want to eat what they have for lunch.
If you plan to have lunch with your student, please order that meal when the teacher
takes the lunch count so that the proper amount of food can be prepared. The Food
and Nutritional Services Department has installed a computer assisted meal accounting
system. This allows everyone to deposit any amount of money into their personal
account and use the money to purchase meals and a la carte items. Each student
and staff member receives a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to use when paying
for items selected. The campus manager has a complete list of a la carte items
and their prices. Meal and beverage prices are:

Meal
tickets must be purchased in advance. Envelopes for your money are available
from the school FANS manager. Each envelope should be completed with your name,
grade, and the amount of money enclosed.
