From the Desk of the Assistant Principal

I am so excited and proud to serve this year as Assistant Principal at Mitchell Elementary. Previously, I served as an Assistant Principal at Rose Haggar Elementary, Hightower Elementary, and Brinker Elementary. Prior to working in administration, I enjoyed working with students as a Kindergarten teacher, First Grade teacher, and Literacy Specialist working with students in Kindergarten through fifth grade. As a Literacy Specialist in 2004, I was honored as Andrews Elementary Teacher of the Year and was also honored with an Excellence in Teaching Award.

As an educator, one is continually growing and learning. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood from Texas A&M University at Commerce, I continued my education experience and earned a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas.

Plano has been my home since 1972 and returning to Plano Independent School District as a teacher and administrator, after graduating from Plano East. It has been an honor and a privilege. Currently, I am beginning my 19th year working in the field of education and my 14th year with PISD.

Mitchell Elementary is a warm, positive, and safe environment where successful student achievement is promoted. Ms. Patrick and I share this common vision for all Mitchell Meteors. We believe children come first! We have an excellent curriculum and a very professional staff. We have many programs in place to help meet the individual needs of students. All children have fun while learning at Mitchell. Walking into the classrooms, you will see students participating in a variety of activities using the latest in technology and other resources. They learn to work together while setting academic goals for personal challenges.

Thank you to the parents for working in partnership with the staff at Mitchell, Ms Patrick, and myself to help every child love school and feel successful everyday.
