Welcome to the Mitchell Library Media Center

The Library Media Center is staffed with a full time librarian
and a part time library assistant. A wide variety of materials
are available for all students and staff to check out. Please
browse the Plano ISD Instructional Resources to view all of
the online resources provided by the district. Within these links
are encyclopedias, atlases, dictionaries, photos, periodicals,
as well as, links to some local public libraries and children’s
author websites. Logins and passwords are available from the
librarian for home use.

Guidelines for checking out:

  • Magazines are loaned to students for a day and
    may not be renewed.
  • All other items may be checked out for one week.
  • Students may renew an item by bringing it to the library to recheck; however,
    popular titles may only be checked out for a week at a time.
    Please check with the library staff.
  • Overdue items need to be returned to the library before anything else can be checked out.
  • Lost or damaged items must be paid for before a student can check out another item. If the item is found and returned within the same school year, the office will issue a refund.
Texas Bluebonnet Award

Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 who read at least 5 books off of the current Texas Bluebonnet Award List are eligible to vote for their favorite Bluebonnet book. For more information about this program, please contact the librarian.


Treehouse Publishing Center

Treehouse Publishing is located on the library mezzanine. Students in grades K - 5 may choose to draft, edit, illustrate, and publish a book. Treehouse Publishing is operated by parent volunteers.
