| The
PACE program is designed to meet the needs of those students who are academically
gifted. It is specifically designed as a general academic program and
integrates the four core areas of language arts, math, science, and social
studies into its curriculum.
Identification of students is conducted not to label students, but to determine which students require program differentiation because of their unique educational needs. Referrals for testing may be made by parents, teachers, or students. The referral deadline for spring testing for kindergarten students is December 14, 2007. Parents will be notified of the results of the tests by mail in mid-late February. Program services will begin afterwards for the newly placed students. The referral deadline for students in grades 1 - 5 is February 29, 2008. Testing will take place in March/April. Parents will be notified of the results of these tests by mail in early May 2008. Services for children placed in the program in grades 1-5 will begin in August 2008.
