General Information:

Both the city and school district are experiencing rapid growth, a pattern that began in the mid-1970s. In the fall of 1981, Plano East Senior High was opened with 563 juniors. At present, the approximate enrollment at Plano East is 2600 juniors and seniors.

The faculty is comprised of over 200 professionalsl, including teachers, counselors, principals and other specialists.

The Plano Independent School District includes three senior high schools (11-12), five high schools (9-10), twelve middle schools (6-8) and forty-five elementary schools (K-5). The Plano Independent School District serves the residents of 114 square miles in the southwestern corner of Collin County. The geographic area includes nearly all the city of Plano, northern portions of the cities of Dallas and Richardson, the city of Parker and parts of Murphy and Allen. The district enrollment is more than 51,000 students.
