Accounting will help students prepare for college as well as entry-level jobs. Students will apply basic accounting principles to "real world" situations through the use of computers and business simulations. Students are encouraged to take this course in grade 11 in order to progress to Advanced Accounting in grade 12. Students who earn a grade of 80 or above and pass an end-of-course exam may be awarded Tech Prep college credit through Collin County Community College. Students must complete six non-developmental credit hours at CCCC and declare an associate degree major within 24 months of high school graduation.
