PREREQUISITE: German I and German II, teacher recommendation

DESCRIPTION: German III Honors is designed to provide talented language students opportunities beyond those offered in other language classes. The course extends the essential elements. It utilizes high level/critical thinking and focuses on the development of mid-intermediate proficiency in oral skills, comprehension of German literature and history, expository composition and expanded use of grammar and vocabulary.

OUTSIDE PROJECTS OR TOURNAMENTS: Students are encouraged to participate in regional and state competitions. Students may participate in the National German Examination given at Plano Senior High School in January. The cost of the exam is borne by Plano Senior High School.

HOMEWORK: Students are expected to study German every night. Written homework will be assigned approximately three nights a week. Students will also be required to keep a cassette with recorded oral assignments.
