45340A Music Theory I
Prerequisite: Knowledge of music fundamentals

This course covers material normally taught at a college freshman level. The course begins with a thorough grounding in basic fundamentals. It is helpful for students to have at least a minimal background in singing or playing an instrument and is able to read music.

45445A Music Theory AP
Prerequisite: Music Theory I and approval of instructor

This course will be a continued study of advanced skills in harmony, arrangements, and composition. For the student who is planning to continue his musical studies on the college level, this course will offer an opportunity for in-depth study and preparation. Current technological developments are used in this class to provide "state of the art" learning in areas such as MIDI interfacing and computerized compositions.
