2011 – 2012 Plano Senior High Planoettes Drill Team
Congratulations to this year’s Planoettes, Planoette Managers and Maroon Guards. The Planoettes are comprised of 75 talented members, 4 managers, and 5 Maroon Guards. The Planoettes must audition for their spot and Managers and Maroon Guards are interviewed and chosen individually.
The Planoettes organization supports school spirit by performing at Football Games and Pep Rallies. They also compete at two regional competitions and one national competition each year. In April they put on the Pizazz Spring Show. On top of all the performing they do, they manage to find time to participate in community philanthropic events such as Pink Out and Plano Children’s Medical Clinic Holiday Fiesta.
This summer the Planoette Officers and Sergeants were awarded the Gold Elite Award which is the highest award given at the Crowd Pleasers Drill Team Officer Camp. They also received a Superior Performance rating on their home routines.
The Planoette Drill Team attended The American Drill and Dance Team Line Camp where they received All American Team award for team with best overall technique. In addition, the seniors received a Special Routine Award for their Senior Home Routine. Many girls received individual recognition including Madeline Kinnaird and Julia Goebel for their outstanding performance in dance, Jocelyn Drennin was selected as Miss All American High Kick, and Ryan Brown Moreno was selected as All American Manager.
