MathCounts competes in local math competitions and is open to
all grades. Solving math problems and working with other students

To be eligible for NJHS membership, the candidate must have
been a 7th or 8th grader at Rice of the equivalent of one semester.
Selection is by a faculty council majority vote and is based
on outstanding scholarship, citizenship, character, leadership,
and service.

This speech and drama club is open to all grades. Students compete
in tournaments, adopt a child for the holidays, and have the
opportunity to join the Junior National Forensic League.

to showcase their knowledgeof the scientific inquiry process
and problem solving. Competition is held in February.
Spelling

of the Rice spelling bee goes on to compete at the district
level.

and job demands increasing with each grade level.

It is open to all middle schoolers. We compete against other
