The Saigling
Library holds two Scholastic Book Fairs each year. The first Book
Fair every year is in November usually the third week, during
National Children's Book Week. The second Book Fair is in either
March or April. The Book Fair provides parents, teachers, and
children the opportunity to buy carefully selected, quality books
and products at affordable prices. The excitement and atmosphere
of the Book Fair always brings such joy to the Saigling students.
Before each
Book Fair, a book list that previews a few of the books offered
at the Fair goes home with each student. The students also view
a book video that highlights a few of the books with interviews
from the authors and illustrators themselves. The students also
have the opportunity two days the week before the Fair begins
to come to the library and just look around. During the Fair,
students visit the Book Fair during their regular library time,
but they may also come at anytime their teacher allows. Parents
are always welcome and encouraged to come and shop with their
kids!
Our Book Fairs
last for a week Monday through Friday and are open daily from
8:30am - 3:30pm. The Thursday of that week is always Family Night.
On Family Night, the Book Fair is open from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
At Family Night, students are encouraged to estimate and guess
how many mystery items are in Mrs. Roberts container, it is different
every time! Students may also enter a drawing to win $15 in free
books for them and their teacher.
Saigling also
provides the opportunity for parents and students to help build
a teacher's classroom library through the Classroom Wish List
Program.
Our Scholastic
Book Fair promises to be a great event for literacy, and we urge
everyone to attend. We look forward to seeing you at our next
Book Fair!
