The
Library Media Center (LMC) is an integral part of the Saigling Educational
Community. It provides opportunities for students and staff
to read for information and pleasure, as well as practice the library
and information acquisition skills students will need in the real
world. The goal of the library is to provide opportunities that
will enable each student to become an effective user of information
with a lifelong love of reading.
The staff of the library
media center consists of Mrs. Stephanie Roberts, Librarian, Mrs.
Mona Halverson, Library Assistant, and Mrs. Karen Thier, Computer
Technology Assistant. The library is available for students
from 8:00-3:00.
The Saigling Library has
a variety of materials available for students to check out for school
use. There are over 12,000 books, 4 research computers with the
PISD internet link, numerous magazine subscriptions, and Shoe Box
Art and Science Kits (sponsored by the PTA).
Volunteer parents who
assist the students in the library are a vital part of the Saigling
Library system. Without their assistance, the library would not
be able to offer as many services as it does.
The library has an open
door policy, which permits students to visit the library for research
or to check out library books as often as they wish.
Saigling LOVES reading!!!
