| Saigling Receives |

The ARC of Dallas recognizes the leadership at Saigling Elementary for demonstrating an inclusive environment by awarding them the 2009 All Kids Can! Award. The All Kids Can! Award honors a school who has demonstrated the value and spirit of inclusion, who recognizes abilities, and who sets examples for valuing and respecting people with disabilities in the school and community.
"Inclusion just doesn't work!" Unfortunately, this is a familiar proclamation in the halls of many schools and districts throughout the state. It is also the attitude and a myth that is refuted every day at Saigling Elementary.
Successful inclusion and goal achievement has to be intentional. At Saigling, it is created proactively through innovative programming that has also included students with the most severe disabilities.
