Structured Experiential Learning Classroom

I
started in the special education field in Oklahoma, where I completed
my student teaching. I began working with a little boy with autism.
He intrigued me, and made my heart smile everyday, inspiring me to
specialize my interest. After one year of teaching in Oklahoma, circumstances
led me to Plano, where I have continued to teach at Saigling for five
years and counting. Being selected, by my peers, to represent "the
teacher" that is considered to be the best in the school is humbling.
I am reminded of a quote by Mother Teresa daily, as it scrolls across
my screensaver: "We can do no great things, only small things
with great love." I don't teach to be great at something or to
someone. It's not ever about me, or how I feel about what I do. It's
about the kids, and how they make me feel about what I do.
