Self-managers are students who are able to manage their own behavior and make good choices. Students earn signatures in the Six Character Pillars to move up the Self-manager levels. Right Choice lessons are taught every week on the character pillars. Each level of Self-manager earns certain privileges.
All students are issued a star folder, which has an area for signatures in the back.  Anytime a teacher observes the student demonstrating these character traits they earn a little or even sometimes a big signature.  Ten little signatures on the back of the folder equal to one big signature inside.  Once they have ten big signatures they become self-managers and earn special privileges.  Once a student is a self-manager he can continue to earn more signatures therefore, move up levels.  There are 4 levels, pink, blue, green and yellow.  Each level comes with its own set of extra privileges.  Self-Managers are to serve as example of how a third grader should act.  It is a great honor that is taken very seriously.
