Faculty
The
Agriculture Department at Vines High School offers different courses which
can be taken by students in 9th or 10th grade. The classes are as follows:
Canine
Science
This is a course designed to develop the knowledge and skills pertaining
to the selection, nutrition, reproduction, health and management of dogs.
It is a laboratory-oriented course that gives students hands-on experience
in working with dogs.
Aquaculture
This class is an introductory course designed to acquaint students with
the growing industry of aquaculture. It is laboratory-oriented and includes
understanding water resource management, determining the biological principles,
growth habits, anatomy, and morphology of aquacultural plants and animals,
and developing leadership concepts and skills.
Wildlife
and Recreation Management
This course examines
the importance of wildlife and outdoor recreation with
emphasis on using wildlife and natural resources. Also included in the
course are sections covering boater education, angler education, and
hunter education. Students are also given the opportunity to develop
leadership skills through the FFA organization.
