I am and have been many things in my life, the most important of which is being a mother.  I have two children, a boy who is in college and a girl who is a PISD student.  Of course, I am also a teacher.  Wells is the only elementary school at which I’ve taught, although I taught government at the college level for three years.

I have two Bachelor of Arts degrees (one in mass communications and one in political science), a Norwegian physical education degree, and a Juris Doctor.  All in all, I have attended nine institutions of higher learning in three countries over a period of 10 years.  In case you haven’t guessed, I LOVE college!  Reading British mystery novels, traveling, gardening, and knitting are things I do as often as time permits.

It was my daughter who introduced to me the viewpoints of Marcus Tullius Cicero, a Roman statesman, lawyer, political theorist, and philosopher who lived 106 B.C. – 43 B.C. Cicero had a viewpoint about education  I find inspirational.  It goes like this:  “The authority of those who teach is often an obstacle to those who want to learn.”  I work to never be such an obstacle in the educational path of my students.
