Shonda Winkler

I'm Mrs. Winkler (which used to be Ms. Huffman for all you old Well's Tigers), the Music Specialist at Wells Elementary. It has been an honor teaching at Wells.  My first year teaching I had the honor of being named not only the Well's Beginning Teacher of the Year but also won Beginning Teacher of the Year for the Plano School District! I also have the honor of teaching the district's gifted music camp in the summertime.

Before teaching, I attended the University of Oklahoma where I studied french horn and voice and earned a degree in Music Education. I also earned my Kodaly certification at OU and attended the University of North Texas for masters work.

I am a member of the military and have been for sixteen years now. I sing lead vocals in the Texas Air Guard rock band and get to play french horn on occasion with the concert band.

When I have free time, I love to hang out with my husband Ray. Ray is the Fine Arts Director and Assistant Principal at Lovejoy High school. I also have two Pug dogs and one Persian cat. I love to play soccer, travel, hang out with friends, play french horn with my private students, and listen to live music in my free time.
