| Reading
I and II: These are developmental reading courses designed
for students currently reading two or more years below grade level
and who may be experiencing difficulty in content area classes. Emphasis
will be placed on increasing reading comprehension, word attack, vocabulary
development, study skills and listening skills. TAKS objectives and
practice will be addressed as well as developing the student's desire
to read. Sheltered
Reading I and II: These are ESOL reading courses designed
for students who are recent immigrants. Emphasis will be placed
on language acquisition. Students will also work on increasing reading
skills, critical reading skills for TAKS and developing a student's
life long desire to read |
