Wyatt Elementary & PISD Key Communicator Information
Updated highlights from our most recent meeting at PISD:
Dr. Doug Otto, Superintendent opened the meeting by sharing general comments
on the funding for Texas schools. He expects that there will be a special
session to discuss the tax rate issue for school funding.
Karla Oliver, School Board Representative talked about the Plano school calendar process. Plano’s goal is to start school as late as possible, yet have balanced semesters and a full week for fall break.
Marilyn Carruthers, Ann Irvine, and Kathleen Pavey are Principals at Plano
Schools:
They talked about the Pilot Program for Standardized Dress at their PISD Elementary
Schools. The program is voluntary, yet 50% to 60% of their students and staff
participate on a regular basis.
James Ashby, Director of Assessment and Accountability reviewed PISD policies and procedures for testing.
