The 2003-06 technology plan update was approved by the Board of Trustees on April 15, 2003. The responsibility for authoring the technology plan is given to the PISD Technology Steering Committee. For this most current revision, the steering committee used an inclusive process involving large group meetings, focus group discussion sessions, campus-based discussions with students and staff and a variety of online information gathering techniques. More detailed information on the process used is available for your review.

Documentation for the 2003-2006 technology plan and process is available in a variety of formats:

The U.S. Department of Education is now in the process of seeking input into the development of the National Education Technology Plan. With the process we've just used being so successful in creating the Plano ISD Technology Plan, I encourage you to participate in the National Plan by completing the web-based comment and feedback form. In October 2003, students were invited to provide their input as part of "Student Speak Up Day". You can view the Grade 3-5 survey and Grade 6-12 survey online. Actual survey results should be available soon.
