ASATA Musical Distance Learning Project
1997-98 Project Description: A one hour musical, written, produced and performed by Performing Arts students from four participating high schools (located in three states!)

In what may have been the first collaborative national telecommunications theatre project, four high schools worked together via technology to produce a student-created musical.  Four high schools, located in California, Texas, and Illinois, used advanced technologies to coordinate the writing, scripting and composition of the musical pieces, as well as to design sets and costumes.  Students worked collaboratively, using both "desktop" video-conferencing and full scale multi-point video-conferencing, to develop all aspects of the production, and were responsible for performing their own unique scenes as well as performing combined production numbers during the musical!
